Ten Things I Can’t Live Without

My BFF

My BFF

1. Tabbed Browsing-
I’m not quite sure how the internet existed before tabbed browsing, but I’m completely thankful that it was finally invented. I’m incredibly happy that I cannot remember the time of my life where my internet experience consisted of a mess of “New Windows” all over the screen or constantly pressing the “back” button. I am also incredibly fond of tabbed chatting as well. I enjoy not having to move a billion IM windows all over my screen while talking to people. Tabs. They’re good for you.

2. Gmail-
The best e-mail service of all time, hands down. Gmail is actually one of my favorite things ever invented, not just in terms of the internet or e-mail providers, but just as a whole. I remember the days of my AOL account, and am extremely happy that those days are long gone. I’ve checked out Yahoo and Hotmail just to see the competition, and I really just cannot see how people are using them. They’re clunky, they’re disorganized, and they’re awful.

3. Music-
Music has gotten me through the ups, downs and in-betweens of the last 23 years of my life, and I’m sure that it will continue to get me through the next 50+. Even though the music industry has gone terribly downhill in the last 10 years (probably longer than that, but I’m cutting them some slack), there will never be a day in my life that music does not affect me in some way. › Continue reading

shirt.woot

shirt.woot.com, although not a new find for me, has become much of an obsession lately, so I figured I should mention it. Every day around 1am or so (EST) a new shirt goes up on the site for 10 bucks. Buying a shirt is as easy as clicking a stupidly big button that says “I Want One”.

Every week they hold a Derby, which is a shirt designing competiton. Woot gives a theme, and you have a few days to design and submit a shirt. Then the users vote on them. The top 3 designs get made into real shirts, and the winners get some cash. Pretty sweet!

I think at this point I own around 8-9 Woot shirts, and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. How can you beat an awesomely designed shirt for 10 bucks? You can’t!
